The portal at app.animawake.com is where you create entities, connect agents, review what entities learn, and manage your workspace.
#The sidebar
From top to bottom:
- Workspace switcher: switch workspaces or create a new one.
- Home: your workspace's starting page.
- Entities: one row per entity, with a status dot. New entity starts the creation flow.
- Room and Devices.
- At the bottom: Docs, Search, and your user menu with Settings, the theme, the app version, and Sign out.
Collapse the sidebar with the button next to the logo.
#Search and the command palette
Press ⌘K on macOS or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux, or click Search in the sidebar. Type to jump to Home, Room, Devices, Settings, or Docs. For every entity in the workspace, the palette can open the entity, its Connect page, its memory, its research, or its settings. It also switches workspaces, creates a new one, sets the theme, and signs you out.
#Home
/<workspace>
- Setup checklist: create your first entity, connect an agent, and save a first memory. Installing the desktop app is optional. The checklist appears once the workspace has an entity and disappears when you finish. Before that, Home shows only a Create your first entity button.
- Entity cards: each entity's name, status, memory count, and last activity. Open goes to the entity; Connect goes straight to its Connect page.
- Devices: a summary of your devices and their status, when you have any.
#An entity
/<workspace>/<entity>
Every entity page has the same header: a breadcrumb (workspace, then entity), the entity's name and status, and a tab bar.
#Overview
The entity at a glance: status, recent activity, and shortcuts to the other tabs.
#Connect
/<workspace>/<entity>/connect
Everything needed to connect an agent:
- Client tabs: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, and Other. Each shows the endpoint and ready-to-copy setup, with your slugs filled in. Secrets are masked until you reveal or copy them.
- Connected apps: every OAuth connection, with a live indicator and when it was last used. Disconnect revokes one.
- API keys: Create key makes a new entity key; Revoke deletes one.
- CLI setup: the
npx animawake setupcommands for Claude Code and Codex. - Revoke all access: signs out every connected app and deletes every API key for the entity at once.
See the Connect section of these docs for each client, and Access tokens and keys.
#Chat
/<workspace>/<entity>/chat
Talk to the entity directly. Chat runs on a device: if none of the entity's devices is online, the page shows No device is running followed by the entity's name, with a See devices button and no message input.
#Memory
/<workspace>/<entity>/mind
- Cards: memory grouped into Who I am, What I remember, Timeline, and Connections, with search and a detail view.
- Brain map: a graph of memories and their links. Click a node to open it.
- Download backup: a zip of the entity's data. See Backup, export, and deletion.
When the entity has proposed changes to its identity or values, the Identity and Values views show a link such as 2 changes awaiting review. See Memory.
#Research
/<workspace>/<entity>/research
The entity's research runs. Open a run to see its graph of hypotheses, evidence, critiques, and decision, and export concluded runs as a paper. See Running research.
#Growth
/<workspace>/<entity>/growth
How the entity is changing over time, and its dreams: whether one is running, past dreams with their journals, and a control to start one.
#Activity
/<workspace>/<entity>/activity
- Changes: proposals to review (Awaiting review) and applied changes (History), with undo. See Owner-approved changes.
- Rules: steering rules with their confidence. Turn a rule off here.
- Failures: times something went wrong. Mark one resolved, or turn it into a rule.
- Signals: feedback picked up from conversations, such as ratings.
- Reflections and Reviews: the entity looking back on its own behavior, and weekly reviews.
See Steering rules, failures, and reflections.
#Settings
/<workspace>/<entity>/settings
- Autonomy: how much the entity may do without asking when it works in a coding agent. Levels run from Ask first (asks before every action) through Cautious, Trusted (the default), and Independent, to Full autonomy (approves everything, including destructive actions). Two switches sit below the levels: Always ask before destructive actions and Notify me on Discord when it approves something itself. Only you can change these settings, from the portal; the entity and the desktop app can read them but not change them.
- Avatar: how the entity looks in the Room.
- Voice: text-to-speech settings. See Voice.
- Siblings: the entity's relationships with other entities. See Relationships and siblings.
- Services and secrets: connected services and custom secrets the entity can use on your devices. See Integrations.
- Danger zone: retire the entity. See Workspaces and entities.
#Room
/<workspace>/room
An optional 3D view of the workspace. Entities and devices appear as objects; drag to pan, scroll to zoom, and click an object to open it. The Group chat panel lives here. See Group chat.
#Devices
/<workspace>/devices
Your paired computers, their status, and the entities deployed to each. Download the desktop app from here. See Desktop app setup.
